EGS is one of the best-known Finnish graffiti artists. After leaving his mark on the cityscapes of more than 50 different countries, the Helsinki-based artist recently shifted his focus on embracing more traditional forms of art, ranging from paintings to glass sculptures.
His work can be seen on streets, galleries and museums worldwide. By painting his name in different ways, the artist modifies classic graffiti calligraphy beyond recognition. His works compose a personal travel-log, the entries of which consist of his abstract graffiti from numerous cities.
EGS will do a visual presentation and talk of his art works and travels. The talk will show the life and development of the letters E, G and S during the last 27 years.
The talk is part of the public programme of the ‘Wall Elements’ exhibition on view at Manege until August 26, 2018. Free entry.
The event is in partnership with the Finnish Institute in St. Petersburg.
