For two weeks, between 24 July and 14 August 2016, St. Petersburg is becoming the epicenter of the world’s type design community. Typetersburg Festival is the first attempt to unite professionals in type design, typography, calligraphy and lettering from all over the world, as well as it is a point for proliferation of the type culture of international acclaim throughout Russia.
6 and 7 August 2016 are the two major days of the festival with a range of lectures, workshops & master-classes. Manege is offering its space and is becoming the main networking area of the Festival.
Festival topics include type designs in all its aspects:
— Type design. Global tendencies and technologies. Countries and cities type branding
— Contemporary Cyrillic font and the ways to make them popular
— Lettering and all handtype techniques
— Calligraphy and its application
— Typographics and its peculiarities in poster, web and multipage design
