On 27 September at 15:00 Manege will host a presentation on the social project “Guide Dog Friendly” in the context of the “Special View” programme from charitable foundation “Art, Science, and Sport”, which supports individuals with visual impairment. The project was initiated by the canine training academy “Guide Dogs”, one of two establishments in Russia where seeing eye dogs are trained.
Representatives from “Guide Dogs” will talk about the basic rules for interacting with guide dogs and their owners. Our special guest will be a “student” of “Guide Dogs”--future guide dog Dejah who will, with the help of her trainer, demonstrate what seeing eye dogs must know how to do.
The “Guide Dog Friendly” project wants to make the city more accessible for the owners of guide dogs. These individuals are often faced with difficulty reaching public spaces despite a federal law protecting disabled individuals that requires visually impaired individuals using a guide dog unimpeded access to all social infrastructure.
Manege invites museum employees, visually impaired individuals, representatives of noncommercial organizations, and journalists to this event. Entry is granted with prior registration.
