Francesco Dobrovich is a founder and art-director of Nufactory creative agency and art-director and producer of Rome Outdoor Festival. The Festival is Italy’s biggest event dedicated to urban and street-art culture.
Dobrovich will present his take on street art culture in Rome, where the status of the eternal city supersedes that of the contemporary one. Before 2010 no artist had legally worked on a residential building in the city centre.
Dobrovich tells the story of how his professional relationship with street art was born and how it has evolved. From his years of organised art activity in the Ostiense neighbourhood to creating the first Street Art District in Rome, to the challenge of the first Italian crowdfunding for a Street Art project, and also from his years of turning abandoned factories into industrial museums. A story of a slow but inexorable change that is overtaking the city.
The talk is part of the public programme of the ‘Wall Elements’ exhibition on view at Manege until August 26, 2018. Free entry.
