Recycle chapel is an architectural composition made of tires, built on the square at Manege’s western facade. This installation by Petersburg collective “ArkhAtak” and Moscow artist Sergey Katran was created within the special project Artification.Recycle, a part of the Russian art and music festival Gamma.
Positioned at the corners of the chapel are four objects created by Sergey Katran. The Moscow artist’s work, “Columns (Stolibtsy)”, is a rotating object made of car tires, inspired by oscillograms (images of time-varying sound waves). In relation with eco-oriented project, the author analyzes poems about nature by Khlebnikov, Zabolotsky, Vvedensky, and Oleinikov.
Recycle chapel can be seen on the square at Manege’s western facade until 21 July, at which point it will be moved to Gamma festival’s main platform–Pivovarenny zavod of Stepan Razin.
