On 19 July renowned photographer Stuart Franklin will be joining us for an online discussion. Stuart is a professor of documentary photography, member of Magnum Photos (holding the post of president from 2006 to 2009), and one of the featured photographers at our exhibition «As They See Us. A Portrait of Russia by the Magnum Agency».
Stuart will talk about his journey in the world of photography. We’ll go into the details of photographic language, and explore where the boundaries lie. Also taking part in the event will be Vladimir Balabnev, who worked with Stuart on a book about London and St Petersburg. During the discussion, viewers will able to submit their questions to Stuart.
The event will be moderated by photographer, film director and teacher at the Fotografika Academy Igor Elukov.
The discussion – which will be held as a Zoom conference – is free to join. Advance registration is required, and you will also need to have downloaded the Zoom app. An hour before the event is scheduled to begin you will be sent a link to the email address provided during registration, which will allow you to join the conference. The event will be held in English, with simultaneous interpretation into Russian.
The event forms part of Manege’s complementary programme, and is taking place with the support of the Fotografika Academy of Documentary and Art Photography.
