In collaboration with the British Embassy in Moscow, Manege is the first one to bring to Russia the directors of the film which was released here in autumn 2018. This is the opportunity to watch or rewatch McQueen on the big screen, as well as to meet the filmmakers.
McQueen reveals the story of the extraordinary life, career and artistry of Alexander McQueen, one of the greatest fashion designers of the early 21st century. Ian Bonhote and Peter Ettedgui managed to create this story using exclusive interviews with his closest friends and family, never-before-seen archive material, exquisite visuals and music. First and foremost, McQueen is an authentic celebration and thrilling portrait of an inspired yet tortured visionary.
The film premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in 2018. Now McQueen is claimed as the most successful fashion documentary in the UK of all time. In January 2018 it was nominated for Bafta 2019 in the Best Documentary and the Outstanding British Film categories.
The screening is part of Manege Documentary Programme with a focus on arts and culture. The programme gives the audience a chance to meet filmmakers and deepen their understanding of the subjects involved.
The entrance is free upon registration. The registration is to open in the end of January; seats are limited.
