The first drawing classes led by instructors from the Repin St. Petersburg Academy of Arts will take place April 12 at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall. They are a continuation of a longstanding historical tradition, bringing together future artists and art lovers.
There will be six drawing class sessions held at Manege during the exhibition’s run. Each one will consist of three master classes of three hours each, led by an instructor from the Academy of Arts. Anyone 17 years of age or older is eligible to register for participation, but as space is limited students will be selected based on merit.
Each drawing class will focus on just one of the sculptures featured at the Manege exhibition. During the class, students will create a pencil sketch of the sculpture and receive advice from the instructor.
To participate, students must fill out an application and be selected. Currently no more applications are being accepted, as all classes have been filled.
The Manege team will provide all students with a tripod easel. Participants must supply their own sketch boards, paper, pencils, and erasers.
