Since their inception, the role of public parks and buildings has changed many times. Beginning as private possessions of Imperial families, palaces and parks became public museums and cultural complexes. On Saturday 7 October, experts–culturologists, urban planners, garden and park experts–will discuss the development of public spaces and trace the transformation of parks.
Discussion participants include Anton Kalgaev, head editor for the book “Era of Agglomerations”, culturologist, and curator of research, publishing, and exhibition projects; Elena Evgrafova, manager of sociocultural development of gardens and green spaces (State Russian Museum); Tatiana Mukhina, urban planner (“Meganom” architectural bureau); and Anna Amvrosova, specialist in urban planning with a focus on spatial analytic data (Habidatum).
Entry to the event is free with prior registration.
