Central Exhibition Hall Manege and Olga Kosyreva open the season of autumn BREAKFASTS IN MANEGE.
Design changed completely in the 21st century. Not being just functional or appealing is not enough to be a considered a design item. It has to be conceptual and bear something bigger, something subtle. Modern technology can boast their rolein it: 3D printing, laser beam and hydraulic cutting and new materials. It seems like design is not even possible without innovation and cutting-edge
technology.
At the same time, we witness a popular discussion of style and trends: what is trendy? Will the 70-s style replace the mid-century modern? And is a plywood stool a signature piece ofIndustrial or Organic?
So, what defines design today? When we look at Zaha Hadid's projects, is it style or is it technology? What about Jean Prouv?’s works? Or maybe it's conceptual? That's something to think about.
