On July 13th, the roundtable discussion entitled Contemporary African Art as a Mechanism of Decolonizing Consciousness and Culture took place in Manege. At the first event of the Reversed Safari exhibition educational program, we discussed the realm of contemporary African art within its current context. We explored prominent artists, local art movements, and developmental trends and also analyzed it from the perspective of one of the most sought-after directions in the international art market. Manege visitors had a unique opportunity to engage with the curators and artists of the exhibition and gain the first-hand insights into the creative process behind its formation.
