Under the direction of People’s Artist of Russia Sergei Stadler and Petersburg-Concert, the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra presents the 5th Musical Marathon, dedicated to Franz Liszt.
In “Musical Marthons” of previous years, the orchestra performed, in one night, all symphonies of Tchaikovsky (2014), Brahms (2015), 12 symphonies of Mozart (2016) as a completion of the concert cycle “All Mozart Symphonies”, and all symphonies of Beethoven (2017). “Autumn Musical Marathon of 2017: Beethoven” made it into the “Book of Russian Records” as the “Longest Philharmonic Concert with a Programme of Works by One Composer Performed by One Symphony Orchestra Under the Direction of One Director”.
On 15 November 2018 the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra will perform three works from the Marathon programme--symphonic poems “Hamlet”, “Prometheus”, and “Prelude”, under the artistic direction of People’s Artist of Russia, Sergei Stadler.
Entry to the event is granted with electronic ticket.
