Manege Central Exhibition Hall and the Consulate General of Israel in St. Petersburg held a Breakfast at Manege with Ruti Direktor, the curator of the department of contemporary art at the Tel-Aviv Museum of Art.
At the event, Ruti talked about the principles of work of the leading Israeli museum, the 2014 creation department of contemporary art, the priorities of her curatorial work, and site-specific projects with leading Israeli and international artists.
In her time at the Tel-Aviv Museum of Art, Ruti has not only helped direct the new department, but also successfully curated an entire series of projects, created in collaboration with artists such as Elmgreen & Dragset, Fiona Tan, Tom Friedman, Loris Gréaud, Noam Enbar, Taryn Simon, and others. Among Ruti’s priorities are performance and video art, international collaboration, and the expansion of museum’s collection of contemporary art.
“Breakfasts at Manege” are a series of professional meetings created for the communication and exchange of experiences within the artistic and cultural sphere, intended for art critics, journalists, bloggers, representatives of cultural institutes, and Friends of Manege members. The curator of the programme is Anna Kirikova.
Breakfast was provided by Terrassa.
