On 8 February at 14:00, a specially adapted tour of the Christ in the Dungeon exhibition will be held for visitors with autism.
The exhibition features wooden religious sculptures dating from the 17th to early 19th centuries loaned from museum collections across Russia.
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the history and spread of sculptures depicting the suffering of Christ. They will also find out about the links between the Russian genre and the iconographic tradition that arose in Western Europe, as well as the specific ways it developed in various regions across Russia. In addition, the tour will cover Russian wooden sculpture as a whole, and wood as an artistic medium in Ancient Rus.
Access to the tour is free. Advance registration is required.
