We invited adolescents from the ages of 12-16 to the exhibition hall to discuss contemporary art in Russia and to ask Manege curators and NEMOSKVA exhibition artists direct and often unexpected questions.
In the first episode, Polina Yekimova asks some questions of Petersburg artist and animator Andrey Sikorsky. How does a young artist get started? How is an installation created? What do you have to add to a pile of sand to transform it into a work of art? How can an artwork influence a person’s life? Is Banksy an artist or an art project? Find out all this and much more in the first episode of the “Spontaneous Crew” podcast.
“Spontaneous Crew” is our attempt to see contemporary art through the eyes of teenagers. It’s a podcast made by teens and for teens, but is sure to be of interest to older listeners as well. We want to know what the younger generation today is interested in, which works of contemporary art they resonate with, which ones remain a mystery to them, and why.
We would also like to thank our friends and partners who helped us bring this together: TAK Сreative Сlasses for their help in making the podcast a reality, and the Bushe bakery chain for the pastries that inspired and energised everyone who participated.
The first episode of “Spontaneous Crew” is already available on Soundcloud and Yandex Music.
